Remove the cable sheathing down to 1 2 inch.

Trim the exterior end of the cable so that you have 4 inches sticking out of the electrical box.
Drill through the wall and through the siding to mark the location for the new outlet.
Make the wire connections between the cable and a gfci outlet.
Attach the bare copper grounding wire to the green screw of your new exterior gfci outlet.
From inside the garage install a cable connector onto the main electrical box.
Screw the outlet to the box then apply a bead of silicone around the face of the box.
You can hide it later with the outlet cover plate.
Use wire strippers to strip 1 2 inch of insulation from each individual wire.
The green screw is typically on the bottom of the outlet.
Squeeze the bit between the box and the drywall.
Loop the wire around the silver screw on the opposite side of the outlet so it goes clockwise.
Bend the end of the white wire into a small circle with a pair of needlenose pliers.
Place a 1 4 x 18 in long drill bit along the outside of the electrical box on the side away from the stud.
Remove the outer jacket from the cable ends using the cable ripper or the utility knife.
Don t worry if you make a small hole in the drywall.
Tighten the screw with a screwdriver to secure the wire in place.
